Research Guide

Every applicant has to submit the consent letter of a qualified guide expressing his/her willingness to supervise the research work, along with the application form without which admission would be deferred.

Qualifications of a Guide:

For M. Phil: A qualified guide to supervise M. Phil dissertation must possess Ph. D in the subject concerned in which the candidate is seeking admission.

For Ph. D: A qualified guide to supervise a Ph. D thesis must possess Ph. D in the subject concerned in which the candidate is seeking admission. He should also possess a total of five years of teaching experience, out of which 3 yrs should be after getting his/her Ph.D.
The guides have to give an undertaking that they are willing to guide the students till the completion of the submission of the dissertation/thesis by the candidate and will not withdraw in the middle for any reasons and will not demand any additional remuneration from the candidates. The candidate need not pay any other amount to any other agency or individual other than the fee prescribed by the University.

Allotment of students:
A Maximum number of 6 Ph.D candidates would be allotted to a qualified guide out of which 4 would be allotted at one time, not exceeding 6 at any time.

If a guide has given consent to more than four, the candidates would be allotted on merit basis by the University.

One Ph.D seat is equal to 2 M. Phil seats with respect to their allotment to guide.

The research guide is supposed to submit a list of panel of examiners with not less than 10 names for the evaluation of the thesis.
